Surely you've played Mahjongg -- a popular Chinese solitaire board game that will take you hours and hours to beat -- one time or another.
Basically, the game consists of eliminating pairs of identical pieces, and in order to remove it from the stack you must have at least one of its sides free (and of course, none on top).
